Fashion for Athletic Body Types
Serena Williams |
Michelle Obama and Serena Williams are two ladies in the
public eye that love to show off their toned bodies. They are confident that
their bodies exude the epitome of fitness and physical health, but not everyone wants to look “athletic”. Of course there are naysayers that
say that Serena Williams looks masculine and scary. Even though Serena is definitely a
sexy woman, catching the eye of Common and Michelle, the president of the United States, Barack Obama, some women still hold strong to their opinions of female muscular body types and still feel more
comfortable hiding their muscles. If you don’t want to show off those sexy
guns, here are 4 ways to feel comfortable and still look cute in the Spring and
the Summer.
1.
Wear short or ¾ sleeve shirts, sweaters, and
jackets.

This is a way to cover your body without dyeing
of heat exhaustion. You don’t have to reveal all of the muscles that you have,
but you can still show some skin. Also, you can always roll up your sleeves to
the desired lengths.
2.
Wear Sandals or Flats
a.
Sometimes booties can cut you off at the ankle
and bring attention to your toned calves. If that’s not where you want people
to focus and you don’t want to cover your entire leg with boots, wear flats or
sandals. There are a lot of cute styles like ballerina flats and gladiator
sandals.
3.
Wear dresses and skirts that flare out at the
bottom
a.
I personally think that athletic bodies are the
best to rock the figure fitting dresses, but if you want something that isn’t
as telling of your figure wear a bouncy dress or skirt. The springtime breeze
will definitely whisk your skirt around and give you an air of lightness.
4.
Wear lace and floral prints
a.
Now, I’m not saying that you have to overdose in the whole springtime trend, but one of the common issues that I hear is that girls don’t feel
feminine when they have muscles. To counteract this, show everyone that you are a woman by wearing feminine materials like silk and lace.
Be proud of who you are is easy to say, but if you aren’t
comfortable with your body you have two choices- change it through healthy
options like exercising and changing your diet or dress in a way to camouflage
the areas that you are uncomfortable with displaying.
