Summit For Girls 11 to 18, Also Looking For Volunteers

I had the pleasure of having the founder of the Uniquely You Summit on my Praise in the City show a few weeks ago. This event is AMAZING for young women and they are registering participants right now. The organization is also looking for women 21 and up to volunteer in the following areas:

 

General Assistance
Girl Exchange Leaders Assistance
Setup / Clean-up (includes Friday, September 14th)
Room Setup /Breakdown
Food & Beverage Distribution
Gift Bag Stuffing
Participant Registration
By volunteering, you can be an inspiration to the next generation of young women as they BECOME WHO THEY ARE!

It is still such a focal point of great magnitude that black girls see positive and realistic images of themselves in their communities, in magazines, on television and in their homes.  For the third time, with real examples of positive black women who’ve kept their sights set on creating their own definition of themselves, and more importantly found a muse in inspiring dreams in the girls they once were, will we produce yet another event that heartens the spirits of black girls.  Through the incitement of individuality, the 3^rd Annual Uniquely YOU Summit will infuse and nurture self-esteem by encouraging girls to discover who they are really meant to be; uniquely define and become who they are; and provoke an unconditional love for themselves!

BECOME WHO YOU ARE! On Saturday, September 15^th & Sunday, September 16^th, 2012, UNIQUELY YOU SUMMIT, Incorporated (UYS), will host the 3^rd Annual Uniquely YOU Summit  for Girls (ages 11-18), on the campus of Philadelphia University along with the Delaware Chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College.
