Video/Photo Casting Call for Teens
Casting Call
The rate of sexually transmitted infections is increasing
rapidly in adolescents in Philadelphia, and in some cases Philadelphia youth are
as much as five times more likely to have certain STDs as the national average.
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is joining many
Philadelphia community organizations to educate young people on the importance
of STD testing and treatment, encourage routine STD screenings, provide greater
access to sexual health information, and decrease fears (like privacy and cost)
and barriers to STD testing.
The campaign will be comprised of Septa bus and train ads
that will drive teens to a website where they can find the nearest location to
get tested, as well as other information about STDs. We are hoping to launch the
campaign in the Fall of 2012.
We want the youth of Philadelphia to be part of the campaign,
to help us create the message and to help us spread the word! So, in addition to
testing the designs and message with young people from the community we are also
holding a casting call for photos for the ads and short videos interviews for
the website. The videos will be one to two minutes long where you will talk
about the importance of getting tested.
If you are a teen or young person living in the city of
Philadelphia and are interested in being part of this photo/video shoot, please
send an email, along with a photo of yourself, to Abny Santicola at santicolaa@email.chop.edu.
Note: If you are under the age of 18, a consent form will
need to be approved by a parent or guardian. If you are 18 or older, you will
need to provide a form of identification for self-consent (state issued ID or
license).
We will be in touch as soon as we have enough teenagers
and will then provide more information such as where and when the photo shoot
will take place.
Thank you for your interest!
