Summer Jobs for Teens! Act Fast...
The Free
Library is pleased to announce that we have received funding from the
Philadelphia Youth Network’s Workready program to provide employment to a group
of teenagers this summer. Teens will work 20 hours per week for 6 weeks,
starting on July 2nd. These positions are open to all teens who live
in the city of Philadelphia.
To be eligible for the jobs the applicant’s family income must fall at or below
the TANF benefit eligible range and they must be between the ages of 14 and 18.
We will
be holding application sessions in the Tech Lab here at the Parkway Central
library on dates in April and May. Interested teens must apply at one of
these sessions. The dates for the application sessions are:
-Saturday,
May 5th, 12th, and 19th from 9:30 am to 12:30
pm.
-Monday
through Friday, May 14th through May 18th, from 3:00 pm
to 6:00 pm.
Teens
must bring with them the following documentation: their Social Security card or
proof of their Social Security number, their birth certificate or a copy of it
(if possible), a school or state ID or copy of their most recent report card,
and their work permit if it is blue. Teens with a yellow work permit
will need to reapply for one for this program, an application will be provided
when the teens come to apply for the position.
