100 Paid Internship Positions for High School Students

Here's a great opportunity for 100 high school students...

SUMMER IN THE CITY (PAID) INTERNSHIP!

The City of Philadelphia municipal government will be hiring 100 Philadelphia high school students for a 6-week paid, summer opportunity within various municipal departments and offices beginning on July 2, 2012 and ending on August 10, 2012.

Participants will have the opportunity to work in numerous fields within City government during the internship, including, health, human services, finance, law and public safety – just to name a few. In addition to a
placement within a City department, students will also participate in weekly Friday seminars with the Philadelphia Youth Network as well as a College and Career Fair.

To participate in the “Summer in the City” internship program, students
must be:
  • A Philadelphia resident
  • Entering 11th or 12th grade (recently graduated seniors may also be considered)
  • Able to commit to 20 hours per week for 6 weeks
Interested candidates must apply online by May 7th to be considered.

Penn Summer Scholars Program: A TUITION-FREE opportunity for Philadelphia public and charter high school students to study beyond the level offered in high school and to gain a college experience through participation in a four week summer academy at the University of Pennsylvania. Application due June 1st.
  4. CCP Advanced College Experience (ACE) Program: College courses for highly motivated high school students with the possibility of earning college credit. Courses offered in Law; Architecture and Design; Science, Technology and Society; Acting; Psychology; Photography. FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE for students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.   5. Camp Business @Drexel University: An enriching summer program designed to give students entering 11th or 12th grade an intensive introduction to both collegiate and corporate business education.
