Fashion: Tribal Markings

With tribal prints, funky hair wraps, nail designs and the current natural hair movement African inspiration has not been this prominent in fashion since we were rocking afros and dashikis.  Of these African inspirations tribal prints seem to be the emerging as a fashion trend among Stars.
Solange Knowles is one of the fiercest females in Hollywood. She is unapologetic for what she wears and is consistently going against the grain. In fact in a recent photo shoot, she rocked many looks with authentic African fabrics and paired them with some great American trends such as thigh high boots and blazers.  Solange rocks the tribal print like no other but this look is not only for the stars.
Tribal prints can be found within any price range. Forever 21, a local retail store has various tribal print bottoms, tops and accessories as low as $6.80. However there is a slight disclaimer, because forever 21 carries a large variety of patterns and styles shopping can be overwhelming at times. So scan the website first to have an idea of what you want before you get in the store. Urban Outfitters is also great for this new look, a personal favorite of mine is their Ecote split wedge. Also looking up local vintage shops, African convenience stores and fabric store in your areas will be sure to lead you to some great tribal find.
So you like the tribal print craze but are not sure if you can pull it off? Everyone can pull it off.  Here are a few ways.

 1)     Tribal print nails- search the internet for tribal print design that suits you, print it out and go to your local nail salon to add a little tribal kick your life.
 2)     Scarves:  The tribal look is not only for the warm weather. Go to a local fabric store and buy some tribal fabric. Drape it on your fall outfit for an easy fix.
3)     Head ties: For those of you who want to make a bolder statement there are various ways to fashionably tie hair scarves. Grab a scarf and search Youtube for the look that suits you.
4)     Accessories: Add a tribal print clutch, ring, headband, shoes etc. to your outfit.
