Scholarship for High School Seniors Planning to Attend Temple U.

Beech Scholarship Fund
Application Deadlines: May 1, 2012 Annually
The Beech Scholarship Fund will award a one time, $1,000 scholarship to four qualifying high school seniors entering Temple University as a full-time freshman for the fall 2012 academic year. The Scholarships are in honor of Beech’s founders, Dr. Bernard C. Watson, John C. Haas, F. Otto Haas, and Floyd W. Alston.
The funding commitment from the Beech Scholarship Fund sets a criterion that includes entering with a grade point average of 2.75 or higher and declaring a major in Arts, Business, Engineering, and Education and are active in extra-curricular activities through their school, church, community or work.
To be eligible for the Beech Scholarship Fund a student must:
- Be a U.S. citizen - Be a graduating high school senior
- Submit an official transcript with the school seal and an authorized official's signature - Submit a signed application (original signature only)
- Submit a 500-word essay
- Submit two Scholarship Recommendation letters from instructors, counselors, or other
professionals.
- Submit a letter of acceptance from Temple University for the Fall 2012 semester
Essay Criteria
Please type your essay legibly and submit with application. Essay must be 500 words based on one (1) of the following questions:
1. Why are you a good candidate to receive this scholarship and what are your future goals?
2. How does your future goals relate to your field of study and why?
